Has anyone ST a game set in the Renaissance? I'm prepping a chronicle set in Elizabethan London using the Dark Ages rules and was wondering if anyone had any tips!
I've ST 4 chronicles for my group, mostly all using current v20 rules (asides from our first game which was using v5, which we are solidly not interested in playing again). The chronicles ran the gambit of Sabbat, Cam, and bloodline-based plotlines but were all set in the modern day. I actually have a couple history degrees and the early modern period (non-nerds call this the Renaissance lol) of English history was a big focus of my academic education/obsession of mine. So all around I have a decent amount of vtm v20, STing, and background knowledge/experience, I just haven't played/ran a Dark Ages (or any other historical WoD) game before.
You can imagine how delighted I was that my players want to play a spycraft and occultism heavy chronicle set in Elizabethan London! I want to make sure I set this game up right, and was wondering what other people would recommend. More specifically, there is *a lot* of Dark Ages books, novels, etc and I so far have only read the 20th ed core rulebook as I'm not sure which other supplements would actually be most helpful. I am the kind of guy who obsessively reads/loves the WoD lore and so for modern v20 games I've read so many 20th and before supplements and really enjoyed mixing them into our games. As a ST I feel kind of naked not having read a bunch of the Dark Ages books haha.
