To every mom (and dad) facing an increased NT

Our baby’s nuchal translucency measured 4.0 mm. We know the fear that number can bring. We went through the amniocentesis—one of the hardest moments we’ve ever faced, for both mom and dad. Sitting there, doing a test to find out if your child might have a syndrome, hurts in a way words can’t capture.

We were told not to spend money on a nursery, clothes, or baby things. We heard a lot of bleak possibilities. But we chose to hold on to faith and believe in a God bigger than statistics. And right before Father’s Day, we received the call: our diagnosis was clear.

Every morphology scan felt like a new wave of worry—each one seemed worse than the one before. If that’s you right now, please hear this: screenings are not destiny. Don’t believe everything you read or hear, and don’t let every cautious word steal your peace. Take medical opinions seriously, of course—but also guard your heart and give space for hope.

To the parents waiting, praying, barely sleeping: have faith. God is faithful. Hold on to each other. Buy the tiny outfit if it lifts your spirit. Dream about your baby’s room. You are allowed to hope.

We’re sharing our story so you know you’re not alone—and so you remember that good news does happen. One day, this storm will pass, and you’ll breathe again. 💛
