                             The cold truth

Dave looks around, sweat trickling down his forehead. He starts running, but then he runs into a wall. He turns, but it's another wall. He traps himself in a corner and a big dark figure approaches the figure, lifts one of its large arms, and swings at Dave. Dave suddenly awakes covered in sweat. Dave looks around and realizes that it was just a dream he gets up and out of bed and gets dressed. He goes out of his base and heads to the store. Dave looks around seeing ice everywhere. Everyone is surprised by this since they weren't supposed to get snow for another 3 weeks. Dave is walking out of the store when he hears a scream from a nearby alleyway Dave drops his stuff and heads into the alley where he sees a beautiful blonde lady getting harassed by 3 men dressed in black armed with knives. Dave runs in and tells the men to back off, the men laugh and start circling Dave. One guy lunges but Dave catches him before he gets close enough to stab him and Dave swings him around, slamming him into another guy, knocking them both unconscious. The third guy, also being the biggest, approaches Dave with his large knife. Dave jumps at him and punches him square in the jaw; the guy flies back and crashes into a wall. “Oh thank you thank you,” the lady says “My name is Jessica” “Oh um no problem I have to go now” Dave responds. “What but I don't even know your name,” Jessica says. “Good keep it that way” Dave responds. And then he walks off. The girl tries to follow but Dave picks up his groceries, bends down and jumps launching into the air and flying back to his base. Once Dave is back at his base he says “Computer analysis” A monotone voice blurts out the three crooks Bobby Simone, Larry Bone, and Derrick Clayton. After you left I called the cops and alerted them to their position. They are on the way now. Dave responds to the computer “Good and the girl¨? The girl is Jessica Parson. She is a waiter at the town's diner called Good Eats. Her boss's name is Brandon Mayhugh. She has a dog and a cat. ¨ Computer stop stop I don't need this information.¨! Davebyells. “I just needed to know she was ok” Suddenly the alarms blared. BRING BRING!! “Shit” Dave calls out as he runs to the elevator of the base checking his watch to see what is happening. As the screen dings he sees a villain wearing a thick suit of armor colored blue and a huge gun holding some sort of crystal the villain aims at the gun and ice gets shot out freezing the targeted area. That's not good Dave thinks as he steps off the elevator and into the city through an alleyway. He starts sprinting with super speed to the location of the villain. “Stop right there villain!!” Dave yells out at the criminal. The villain turns to face him and screams back “You need to CHILL out” The bad guy then shoots the freeze gun at Dave he jumps and rolls out of the way as it turns the ground and grass to solid ice. When Omega turns to face the villain he laughs. “You using ice against the hero who has the power of a star You more of a fool than those crooks I ruffed up earlier” Omega blasts a fireball at the crook but the freeze villain shoots it with ice and completely freezes the fireball. “You don't get it I'm not a normal guy I am The IceBox” He shoots another spray of ice at Omega but he dodges it and shoots another fireblast. “You need to be nICEr” The IceBox calls out as he shoots the ground turning it into a skating rink. Omega tries to stand up but slips again and again. “You won't beat me, I am too smart for you,” The IceBox calls out as he skates around expertly. He aims his gun at Omega again but Omega starts glowing, heating up and glowing as the ice around him melts; he stands up finally and stops glowing. “Self-heating is quite useful,” Dave laughs. The villain steps back in surprise but re-aims his gun as it fires Omega holds out his hand and it just melts. “WHAT NOO!!!” The IceBox cries out as he trips and falls to the ground on his knees. Omega steps over to him, pulls him out of the armor he is wearing and throws his ice gun away from him. He dials the cops and as they arrive Dave flies away back to the bunker and analyzes the armor as well as the gun realizing they are made of a lightweight flexible tungsten steel. After that, he checks the crystal in the gun and it shows that it has some sort of elemental ice powers hidden in it that the gun used and harnessed. When he finishes this he takes both the gun and the armor and throws it in his confiscation vault. As he tries to relax he looks around and feels something is … off. “Come on out Jessie I know you’re in here” Dave yells out. All of a sudden a voice speaks behind him “You didn't change the locks, Callahan”. At that moment a tall woman appears with brown hair, green eyes and a leather jacket. “ I didn't think you were dumb enough to come back here” Dave replies as he turns to face her. “Aw you don't want to see me anymore?” Jessie says in reciprocal. “You know I have to arrest you now right?” Dave snarks as he steps closer. “Yeah that's why I'm here. I want you to throw me in jail. I'm tired of hiding. I want to … reform myself.” Jessie replies to Dave. “Fine,” Dave says to her while he slaps power-canceling handcuffs on her. “What you don't trust me, David,” Jessie says in a high-pitched tone. Dave drags her out of the base and to the prison after that he turns her and she snickers. Later that day Omega breaks up a bank robbery but he couldn’t stop thinking of why Jessie would turn herself in when the phone starts ringing. As soon as he picks it up he hears screaming and panic “Omega we need your help a few prisoners have escaped!!” Dave asks, “which ones?” They reply “Um the two you brought in today so the ice guy and the lady as well as 2 minor criminals and… Luke. Dave thinks back to the 7 months when no one knew where he was because he was hunting down Luke and at that time the city had built a supervillain prison. It took Dave 3 months to even find a trace of Luke then 3 months to catch up to him and then an entire week of fighting when he finally beat him he took him straight to jail. “WHAT YOU LET LUKE GET AWAY!?!” Dave Screams at the guy. “Yes, he got out and flew away from the prison, we were unable to catch him” The guy calmly replies. Dave immediately flies to the prison and looks around for clues where he finds a note written to him for Luke. The note reads “Fuck you, Dave”. As Dave reads this he remembers his first fight with Luke where he nearly died and remembers that they both have a weakness to lead. “You rebuilt this cell out of lead now!!” Dave calls out to the nearest guy as he scrambles away. Omega steps out of the prison and looks around for any more clues about the escapees as he sees footprints he follows them and they lead back to his base all the way to the vault he realizes that the armor gun and crystal have been stolen he recalls the camera footage from the computer but they were disabled before he could see anything. “Computer cameras thermal?” Dave says. The computer buzzes, and then the cameras turn to thermal vision where he sees that Jessie has entered and disabled the cameras Allowing The IceBox to retrieve his stuff. After Dave finishes watching the camera footage his alarms blair showing the villains have started wreaking havoc. He dashes out of the base to confront the criminal and sees The IceBox freezing everything around him even the people as they try to run away. “Stop right there villain” Omega yells out to The IceBox. “Not gonna happen douchebag I have help this time” The IceBox calls out. At that moment Dave feels weaker and then a large blunt force damage at the back of his neck and he passes out. “See I told ya he was weak to lead” Jessie laughs. When Dave wakes up he notices his mask is off and he is in a cage. “You think a little cage will hold me” Dave calls out as it echoes through the warehouse. Jessie steps out of the shadows and cackles “Just try to escape I dare you bet you won't be able to even step foot out of the cage”! Dave tries punching the cage but every time he does it hurts him and slightly drains his power. “These bars they are…” Omega says softly. As The IceBox walks over he speaks out “Pure lead big fella you're never getting out of there it's pretty COOL” “You won't keep me here forever I will get out” Dave calmly says. “How no one knows you, you don't have any friends and everyone thinks Dave is dead.” Jessie laughs out walking away with The IceBox. Dave sits down in his new hell thinking of how to get out of this place. I can’t break the lead , it nullifies my power and I can’t call anyone…. “Fuck there is no way out of here,” Dave says, talking to himself. As time passes they feed Dave and give him the basic amenities for human life. “You can't keep me in here forever, people will notice if I don't show up, you know that” Omega calls out after the third day. “So what are you gonna do about it? You can't even use your powers right now,” The IceBox said. “In fact I could probably freeze you right now and you would die” He aims his gun at Dave and squeezes the trigger as a blast of white shoots out of the gun and hits Dave in the chest freezing him entirely. A few seconds go by then the ice starts glowing and a beam of light shoots up out of the ice out of the cage and out of the warehouse as Omega flies up and is fully powered again. As he dives back down to the warehouse he looks for both The IceBox and Jessie but he can't find them, only a small block of ice left by The IceBox. As he continues searching he hears police sirens coming closer and closer. As they arrive he chats with the officer telling him everything he knows about what has happened. After that, he flies back to his base to recuperate to find it ransacked and wrecked, covered in ice, and crushed to pieces. Damn what the hell happened here. As Omega walks around he doesn't find much that's still intact at that moment he hears a noise a rustling sound from a dark corner of the base. As he slowly walks over there he makes himself glow to light up the corner with the broken light. When the area lights up he sees a kid no older than 17 trying to rip apart a computer. “Woah what are you doing here kid this place is top secret” Dave yells at the kid. “Really I found it pretty easy after those people ransacked it,” The kid says back basically unfazed “In fact I’m surprised no one had found it before”. “What are you doing in here answer me before I blast you,” Dave says with a stern look. “What does it look like” The kid says back in a snarky voice “I’m looting so I can buy food for tonight” “...” Dave is gobsmacked “What do you mean do you not have a home or a family”? “Look at me my clothes have holes in them and my face is covered in dirt what do you thi?… WAIT, YOUR OMEGA!!!” The kid calls out. “Uh yeah did you not realize till this very moment” Omega replies slowly. “Holy shit I'm sorry I'm leaving I didn't realize this place was yours oh .. oh no,” The kid says frantically trying to get past him. “Please let me go I'm.. I'm sorry”. Dave replies “Listen kid I’m gonna drop you off at the orphanage and you will stay there.” The child responds “No, don't make me go back there, that place isn’t good, please I'll do anything”. After he says that he falls back on his butt and scurries back away from Omega. What do I do with this kid? “What's your name child?” Dave says calmly. “My name? Uh my name is Damian.” The kid replies stressed. “Please don’t send me back there” “Fine I won't but you need to leave the same way you got in” Dave replies. “Ok yes, sir,” Damian says quickly. He gets up and quickly darts past Dave after that he jumps across some rubbled computers and grabs onto a loose wire to swing himself halfway across the room. Once he lands he starts sprinting down the hallway. Damn, the kid has skills. “Hey Damian, wait” Omega calls out. The kid slows to a stop and hesitantly turns around “Yes?” Omega speeds over to the kid. “Where did you learn to do that?”. The kid quickly replies “Oh I just picked it up ya know livin on the streets teaches you a lot of things”. Dave almost immediately responds “Yea but not something like that. That was some sort of super-powered shit”. Damian sighs. “Yeah, I have superpowers, I have super athleticism and hypermotility.” “But how did you get them? It's not like you just woke up with them right”? Dave asks. “That my friend is a really long story like a span of 3 years,” Damian says laughing. Dave quickly responds, “Cliff notes I'm crunched on time” “Fine um, freak accident with a supervillain, caught in the crossfire, mind control, friendship, death, drama. Casual backstory lore ya know,” The kid says mostly uninterested. “Ok fine …” Dave says. What am I gonna do with the kid? “How old are you?” The kid almost instantly replies “I’m 16” “You are coming with me for now I could use your powers maybe,” Dave thinks out loud. The kid instantly replies again “OH HELL NAW. Your Omega you face life-threatening evils like weekly I’m not gonna help you I’d die” After that, he runs away from the base. “COWARD” Dave yells after him. After that Omega recovers whatever he can to make a makeshift minicomputer and checks the news. “I’m Allyssa from channel 10448674868386873757 news and we have breaking news of another villain wreaking havoc in town park cutting now to Parker for a ground report,” Says the reporter. As the screen cuts to the city we see a male reporter. “Thanks, Allyssa it’s pretty chaotic down here as you can see behind me the same freeze villain from earlier this week is here again and Omega is nowhere to be seen once again could our famous hero have abandoned u-” At that moment the male reporter gets froze by The IceBox and he speaks into the camera “Omega come out, come out, wherever you are”. And then the camera cuts out and the camera switches back to the office reporters. “Um we will check back in with them later but for now we will wait and see if Omega will show up and save the day we will be back tomorrow hope you tune thanks for watching channel 10448674868386873757” And then the channel switches but it doesn't matter because Dave turns it's off. “Computer initiates repo protocol”. He quickly leaves the base and goes back to the park to fight The IceBox but as he gets there he notices more ice than last time he also notices how much colder it is. When he spots The IceBox he notices how much larger the ice crystal in the gun is and connects the dots. But he doesn't have much time to think because The IceBox turns his attention to him and tries to blast him with the gun spraying ice everywhere. Dave ducks, dodges, dives, dips, and dodges avoiding the ice for his life as he starts glowing and heating up. “Ha now I’ll melt all your ice and kick your ass” Dave laughs out but as he steps forward he stops glowing. “NANI!!!” Dave yells out. The IceBox calls out “One of the reasons we picked this location is because the dirt is rich in lead so you can’t touch me here”!! Dave steps back and starts glowing again. “Except you forgot something IceBox,” Dave says as he steps back again and blasts a laser straight at the IceBox. However, when the laser blast is about halfway to The IceBox it bounces away seamlessly. Dave is confused until Jessie comes into sight “A little quirk of my power I reflect light” Dave responds aggressively, “Dammit just die already.” Dave starts sprinting across the park right at Jessie as he pulls his arm back winding up to punch. As he makes contact with her he feels pain rocket through his hand, “AAAAARGH” As he looks he sees Jessie on the ground with a bloody nose. “That was a full power punch, how are you still alive…” Dave says gobsmacked. The IceBox laughs “You must not catch on this dirt is rich in lead fragments which means your powers won't work you imbecile” Dave looks around for anything to help him but he takes too long and Jessie gets back up and uses her sonic scream on Dave. “AAUU AAARRRGGGHHH” Dave screams as his ears start to bleed. Dave steps back right into The IceBox. “Hello, friend, are you ready to CHILL out hahahahaHAHAHAHA.” The IceBox says before blasting him with a huge shot of ice and he freezes all over. Meanwhile on a roof nearby is Damian watching and studying, as he watches Dave get completely frozen he jumps from the roof. He starts sprinting over bouncing off trash cans and bounding across frozen ice spikes. “Hey let him go” Damian yells out. He continues running at them and right up to Jessie with a large kick to the chest as she falls down and hits her head going unconscious. Damian turns to face The IceBox. “Leave this place or else,” Damian says confidently. The IceBox replies “Or what”. Damian quickly responds “This” As he dashes past him and spin kicks the Omega icicle cracking and smashing the ice freeing Dave. “Let's go kid, we can take this guy,” Dave says as they both spin to face the villain but The IceBox walks up and kicks Damian across the park crashing into a fountain. “KID” Dave calls out frantically. Damian groans a long exhausted groan and then falls unconscious. Dave, shocked , turns to fight The IceBox but he is gone and so is Jessie. Dave picks up the kid and heads back to the base which has been repairing itself since he left because he turned on the repo protocol. “Medbay turns on vital scans 17 male 5”11 mixed race,” Dave says quickly. A robotic voice speaks “Vitals normal accelerated heart rate, a concussion, and a broken ulna. Initiating healing treatments now.” The base makes a buzzing sound as an arm comes out and starts fiddling with Damian. Dave walks over to the computer that is now repaired. “Computer analysis of the combat zone and fight” Dave calls out. The robotic voice speaks up again. “Right away sir.” The computer instantly pulls up the needed info and Dave spends the next few days studying them whenever he can while taking care of Damian who has finally woke up. “Damian, who are your parents, do you know?” Dave asks him. And the kid replies “My mom died at birth and my dad abandoned me when I was ten”. “Well who is he?” Omega asks. And Damian replies again “Um it’s Archer… Cole Archer” Dave’s jaw drops… but he doesn't say anything“Listen, kid, what you did to save me was brave … but completely stupid and utterly idiotic,” Dave tells him. “I'm sorry but … I … the … and …” Damian stutters trying to talk. The alarms start blaring and Dave checks the cameras and sees The IceBox and Jessie. “Stay here kid” Dave quickly says before running off to fight crime. Dave arrives at the downtown area to see The IceBox freezing stores while Jessie robs them. “Hey it's over criminals” Dave yells. As they turn to Dave they laugh. For a few minutes it's a stare down as those two bore daggers straight through Dave but Omega stands tall and confident. “You have tried this already Omega” Jessie calls out. “But this time I have a plan” Dave calls out and immediately after he turns and blasts a stop sign having it fall on The IceBox while he charges at Jessie and lands a full force punch throwing her through a deli store. The IceBox gets up and tries blasting Omega however he is prepared for this and shoots lasers to melt the ice. He then runs up to him and jump-kicks him in the face as he flies back and crashes into a mailbox he turns to face Jessie but he can’t find her as he turns again he hears a terrible screeching he looks he sees Jessie driving a delivery truck right at him it crashes into him flinging him like a ragdoll. As he gets up he sees Jessie walking towards him and blasts him with a supersonic scream making his ears bleed as well as preventing him from standing. The IceBox also gets up and walks closer aiming his gun and slowly starts freezing his feet then his legs slowly moving up. “It’s over Omega you're gonna CHILL out” The IceBox calls out. The ice is still slowly moving up Dave's leg, unable to do anything because of Jessies sonic scream. Once the ice gets to Omega’s chest The IceBox stops freezing and perps a large punch. “NOOOOOOOOO” Says Damian as he jumps in front of the punch to protect Dave. The IceBox, completely surprised, throws the punch hitting him in the face and launches him down the street where he crashes into an ATM. Dave screams “KID NO!!”. Omega starts glowing despite Jessie's scream he melts the ice and gets out of range of Jessie. “You criminals fucked up you just gave me a good reason to kill ya,” Dave says sternly. He starts sprinting using his super speed running around them confusing them and punching them so fast they can’t do anything about it. Eventually, Dave blasts The IceBox with a laser pushing him out of the circle he had created. He stops running at top speed and turns to face Jessie … But she's gone. He is confused for a minute but quickly turns to face The IceBox. “It’s over criminal scum” Dave yells out. The IceBox responds quickly as well “Nuh-uh”. The criminal tries to shoot Dave with his freeze gun, but he can't find it. Omega laughs holding up his gun “Looking for this little thing. Ok here take it!” Dave aims the gun and blasts The IceBox freezing him in a solid block of ice. Omega laughs to himself “Little ironic isn’t it kid… KID” Dave sprints to where Damian is and checks his pulse “It's slow but he isn't dead. Kid wake up get up kid” Dave shakes Damian and he awakens “Did … we …win”. Dave laughs “Yes we did”. Damian turns over “Good now I'm… gonna take … a nap” and Damian rolls over once again. “Kid get up, we have to get The IceBox to jail,” Dave says as he shakes Damian. Dave says, “Get up, Damian…” Dave checks Damian's pulse again and doesn't feel anything. “NOOO KID… I told you … to stay put…” Dave lays down and sighs thinking about the past 2 weeks. After 2 ½ hours Dave gets up and takes the kid back to base. 4 days later they are at the cemetery. The only people there are Dave and Cole which he temporarily brought out of prison for Damian's funeral. Dave gives a sermon before Damian is lowered into his grave.

The origin of Damian archer

Damian jumps over the mud puddle glancing behind him, he sees 2 bigger children chasing him. He rounds a corner and jumps behind a dumpster. The kids following behind him slow to a stop and yell. The chunkier of the two calls out, “Come out come out Damian.” As they walk past Damian he slinks back holding his breath. They kick trash and smack dumpsters looking for him. As Damian slinks back he knocks over a glass bottle and it clunks into the ground. They turn around and laugh as they approach him. The taller of the 2 bullies speaks loudly, “You're so screwed you freak.” As they get closer they pull pocket knives from their pockets. Damian lurches back as much as possible trying to get away from them as he leans against the wall he hits a brick and it slides into the wall. As the wall slides apart the a doorway opens a weird glow emits from it. The kids stop and turn to look at it before the 2 bullies speak, “Stay here Damian we are gonna check this out then we will be back for you.” As they step through the doorway Damian loses sight of him. Suddenly another kid comes around the corner of the alley. “Damian there you are. Where did those bullies go?” She says. Damian stands up cautiously and replies, “They went in their Sage”. Sage looks at the weird doorway and drags Damian inside. As they enter they follow a staircase down into what looks like a laboratory. Suddenly their hear voices and crouch behind a counter. “Wait sir please no don’t sir,” crys the chunkier bully. The taller bully is just straight up crying. They hear some sort of pulsing zap and when they look all they see is a puddle where the thugs stood. Sage stands up and screams. A man steps out of the shadows and laughs, “More of you that's nice”. The man steps forward and grabs Sage dragging her over the counter. “Help Damian please,” Sage cries out. Damian stands up and screams, “Put her down you… you…”. As he look up he sees a massive disfigured face and falls to the ground. The man puts Sage into a large glass cage and grabs Damian to do the same. Damian struggles but it's useless. As he gets thrown into his own chamber the man speaks, “You will serve great test subjects since I ran out of rats”. Damian looks over and sees Sage crying. “It's ok Sage they will come find us I promise,” Damian says calmly. She replies between her sobs, “Who we live in an orphanage no one cares about us.” Damian knows this is true but he chooses not to think about it. “Hey are you gonna feed us I’m starving,” Damian calls out to the man. The mysterious man comes back, “Please call me Crichton … and yes I actually have something prepared for you”. He presses a button and a small box comes out of the floor for each of them. Damian opens the box and sees a small burger. “Each day I will feed you twice, usually burgers they will be infused with a pill of something I've been working on. You will eat them and then be observed to see the effects of said pills. The percentage chance for each day will be slim, now go ahead and eat” Crichton says. Damian reluctantly picks up the burger. As he turns to Sage he sees a look of horror on her face. “What's wrong Sage?” Damian asks. “I ate it before he even explained,” she exclaims. Suddenly her arms start slumping when she tries to lift them. “Interesting delayed paralysation” Crichton says out loud as he types something into a laptop. He turns to Damian and gestures an eating motion. Damian lifts the burger to his mouth and takes a bite. He doesn't feel anything immediately but he quickly feels energized and stronger. The scientist seems confused, “No physical differentiators… hey kid do you feel any different?” Damian replies slowly thinking about every word, “No I definitely do not feel different from like 5 minutes ago.” Crichton sighs, “Physical enhancement pill was a bust I’ll have to start from scratch. I’ll be back in 3 hours for your next meal.” he exits the room and the children sigh. “So that pill did nothing to you?” Sage asks. “No it worked but I’m not gonna tell him that.” Damian replies. After a while the man comes back and clicks another button. The same boxes rise and another burger is inside. They both pick it up and reluctantly take a bite. Damian immediately drops to the floor unable to move. “What the hell is this”, Damian cries out. Crichton responds, “The weight amplification pill seems to work just fine, it'll wear off in 10 or so minutes”. He then turns to Sage who is hunched over. “Oh?” Wonders Crichton. Suddenly Sage starts puking. “Oh well that's too bad I’ll have that cleaned right away”, the doctor says calmly. Day after day goes by as they eat the burgers and get the side effects. Every once in a while one of them will get a pill that gives them some sort of power but most of them are temporary. After about a month or so after feeding they start talking. Damian says, “I’m getting really tired of burgers”. “Yea I guess but at least we are getting food”, Sage replies slowly. “Yes but it's no way to live. I'm getting out of here.” 3 hours pass and the scientist enters the room, “Ok testing strength amplifier version 8 and neuro pacifier 2” As the burgers enter the room Damian looks through his and finds the pill as he quickly stuffs it in his pocket. He then eats the burger. “Sorry, nothing changed”, Damian says. He turns to Sage to see what has happened to her. Sage’s face upturned, she turns to him, and he sees nothing wrong with her until she screams, “I can’t see anything with my eyes they… I can’t see anything” The scientist seems intrigued. “Temporary blindness, very interesting.” He types something into the computer and exits the room. Damian pulls out the pill and observes it. “What is that”? Asks Sage. “The pill that was in my burger I think it's the strength amplifying pill.” He consumes the pill and feels his body energized and his muscle increased. He gets ready and punches the door as it cracks open he realizes, “The doors were never locked” He steps out and almost choke’s on the chemical filled air. He walks over to the other chamber and opens the door releasing Sage. She also gags on the contaminated air. As they wander through the lab looking for the exit they stumble upon the scientist. He turns around and gasps, “How did you get out”? Damian responds, “the doors were unlocked.” Crichton looks confused before grabbing something that Sage recognizes. She whispers to Damian, “That's the liquidizer he used on the bullies”. Damian nods and preps a plan. As the villain points it at them Damian grabs Sage as they dive behind a counter dodging the ray. Damian starts crawling past the counters and boxes until he is relatively behind Crichton. Sage screams for a reason Damian can not see because she did not follow him. He stands up and charges at the scientist. Crichton turns to late and gets tackled to the ground knocking the liquidizer from his hand. The scientist starts reaching around and grabs something quickly using it on Damian. Damian flinches as the blaster pulses into him and he feels stronger. Crichton, confused, looks at his blaster and realizes that it is a rejuvenater. Damian laughs and punches him repeatedly in the stomach. As the scientists spits up blood and mucus Damian is looking for Sage. He stops beating up Crichton and stumbles forward as he sees Sage. He looks her over but she seems fine when suddenly she points behind him. Damian understands this and ducks left. A loud bang goes off as the scientists shoots a real gun. Damian looks in shock as he sees Sage throw up blood. He stands up and tackles Crichton ripping the gun out of his hand and firing once, twice, three times into his chest. As Crichton rolls over he pukes blood. He spits a bit more blood before closing his eyes and stops breathing. Damian stands up fires one more bullet before dropping the gun and running to Sage. As she spits blood she laughs, “Hey, we can go home now”. Damian sobs and replies, “We don’t have a home”. “We will find one,” she replies. Before kneeling into a lay as she closes her eyes, Damian exclaims. “Sage, are you ok?” Damian asks. Sage replies heartily, “Of cou…”. Damian screams and holds her corpse as he sits there holding his best friend.
