Can I take my vape in my carry on?

Can I take my vap8 in my carry on?

So basically I am flying from Newcastle airport UK and I know I won’t have to take my vap8 out of my carry on baggage because you don’t have to take any electronics out. But on the way back from Gran Canaria do I need to take it out and put it in one of the trays or can I just keep it in my carry on baggage.

The real reason is because I am underage and I don’t want my parents seeing my vap8 in the tray.
