Eto from Walmart, can I have a job for while I’m at school

So basically I start college in a week and while I’m there I’m gonna be doing track with morning workouts and afternoon practice and I’ll be an ambassador for first gen. College students so most of my time will be took up by that stuff. But I need a job while I’m down there bc I’ll have a car payment but I don’t think the Walmart will hire me bc off the time constraints. So I’m trying to go on educational leave for while I’m gone but while I was talking to my PL about it she said I wouldn’t be able to get another job while on leave. I just want to know if this is a flat truth or if there are some jobs I can do while on leave to cover my payments
