(Long rant incoming. Hope you guys don’t mind as I tried to make sure this actually makes some sense as well as voice my own thoughts on the matter.)

As I’m sure everyone knows, Pomni’s behavior in the trailer for episode 6 has been kind of a controversial topic in the couple of days the trailer was shown. People are confused and assuming Jax has something to do with it because of how Jax is. Some have even suggested he swapped Pomni with the Evil Pomni Caine created in episode 5. The majority of arguments against these thoughts that I’ve seen usually consist of Pomni saying she likes to search for thrills(guns can be thrilling) and that Jax replacing Pomni with her evil version would undermine their relationship.

I wanna get my own theory out and say that while I believe Pomni might at least be somewhat interested in the game, I think Jax will be encouraging her to view things how he sees them, resulting in her acting as crazy as he does. Obviously, we won’t know until the episode is out, so back to what I was talking about.

I believe the main reason this has been so divisive is that it doesn’t feel like just another aspect of her personality. I know that sounds weird, but I feel that things have been so divisive because this feels so much more of a drastic change compared to how she has been. Obviously, this could just be her thrill-seeking side, but because we know nothing about it beyond the statement, people probably didn’t imagine she would have ever acted like this.

But at the same time, does anyone think Jax isn’t above making someone else act and think like him? Obviously, they have some kind of friendship going on, and Goose has said he isn’t just pure evil, but this is still Jax we’re talking about. Goose even said herself that people make too many excuses for Jax’s behavior and that he is still a bad person.

As far as the “Evil Pomni” theory goes, I am not leaning too far towards it but can believe it. I can see Evil Pomni indulging in Jax’s violent behavior, so it’s believable to me in that sense. I also wouldn’t say it’s impossible for Jax to sneak her in as NPCs have gotten into the Circus(Gummigoo and the mysterious mannequin in ep 5) and Jax has shown to be very knowledgeable of the circus, meaning he could find a way to grab and hide Evil Pomni in the Circus or swap out Pomni for Evil Pomni without anyone noticing(Caine’s all-seeing eyes, am I right?.

But did Jax actually try to? Goose has said their relationship would be messy and that she wasn’t sure if people would love or hate where it goes, so some bad things will likely happen between them. But at the same time, Jax does seem to have some kind of desire for friends as he was clearly furious with Ragatha for saying he didn’t have friends anymore, and he does seem to enjoy talking with Pomni. So I feel part of the theory boils down to if we think Jax would prefer being friends with the real Pomni or a fake that would indulge his more ruthless actions.

(Also, I’ve seen people use a couple of scenes of Pomni having sharp teeth to also discredit the theory. Though that argument hinges on Evil Pomni only being able to have teeth. If Pomni can get sharp teeth, then Evil Pomni can probably have non-sharp teeth which could invalidate the argument. I also never actually noticed Pomni had sharp teeth in those scenes, so that was interesting.)

So, this went in a more pro-“Evil Pomni” theory than I thought it would, but I really did just make this to say that I don’t blame people for thinking Jax is up to something that will upset people. I believe he’s up to something also. It’s just weird how different Pomni acted in the trailer, and given that Jax is still a pretty controversial character, this kind of talk was bound to happen.

Again, I’m not sure how much I believe Jax swapped Pomni for Evil Pomni, but I don’t think the theory is too outlandish compared to other theories I’ve seen. We’ll just have to wait until episode 5 comes out to see what really happens.

I’m not too sure how much I believe the “Evil Pomni” theory, but I don’t think the idea Jax has something to do with her behavior is unbelievable.
