Ready to buy—what else should I know?

I’m about ready to buy—please let me know if I’m off base on any of this or should consider other options.

Planning on a new 2025 CX5 Premium Plus in red with parchment interior. Not planning on any dealer accessories. Not financing the CX5, but not planning on disclosing that right away.

I’m hoping (perhaps foolishly) to negotiate via email and just go into the dealer to sign papers. Through reading on here (and a website I saw recommended here) it looks like I can hope for 7-8% off MSRP…plus taxes and all that stuff. Looks like a few dealers within 200 miles have the vehicle I want.

I’m trading in a Honda Odyssey Ex-L with almost 150k on it. Not expecting a lot for it based on KBB. Don’t want to sell it privately because it has a few issues and I don’t want to be responsible for someone else having to deal with those problems.

Any red flags with my plan?
