Venting: Fed up with AI and Workday/job apps
I keep applying nonstop to any and every CNA/nurse tech position that crops up and I've gotten two interviews out of the 30 or so applications I sent in over the last two weeks. Most of them are using Workday, and I assume the ones who don't are still sending applications through the AI black box rather than having any humans review them.
I have a decent amount of experience at this point. I'm not god's gift to nursing or anything but I'm a 2-year EMT-B who has also spent the last eight months working on a MedSurg floor as well as working at a local homeless shelter doing wound care. I have excellent references. But at this point I'm so desperate that I'm applying everywhere from ERs to other MedSurg floors to medical assistant positions at urgent cares and private practices. I've had two different nurse friends look over my resume and cover letter (both of whom are excellent writers) who made some suggestions but otherwise said my application looks good. Yet the two places I managed to interview with said that I would be a great addition to the team....and I never heard from them again.
I know it is normal in this day and age to be ghosted by hiring committees. I've seen all the same vent posts from r/RecruitingHell and r/antiwork . I am not surprised at all by it. I am not expecting things to change. I just want to vent about it a) because i am stressed as hell and sick of being ghosted and am trying not to lose it on the next HR person i talk to and b) i wanna see if anyone has had any success in getting through the magical AI black box that we're not allowed to see that determines whether or not I get to have income again.
