Going home off campus apartment

So I live like 45 minutes from campus. Last year ; I went home a lot of weekends and still was able to get a social life. I know I will stay in BR more during the school year this time. But Idk I feel like it’s made to feel weird to go back home during the summer if you live in an off campus apartment. I will miss my mom too much and can’t leave for a whole summer ? Can yal tell me yalls experiences or opinion
