Do you regret becoming a doctor?
I have been an icu nurse for 3 years now. I already applied to crna school and am still waiting to hear back. But am I making a mistake? I know the easier route for someone in my position worth be crna or NP but I wouldn’t be happy as an NP as I feel like my knowledge would be limited. I have applied crna this cycle and still have time to hear back but feel like I won’t get in as I only have 3 years as an icu nurse and am lacking leadership things.
I would just have to take the mcat and organic chemistry 2 as I have the rest of my prereqs done. But am I making a mistake? Just from what I’ve seen on my unit with the fellows and residents, I know they work really long hours and it is hard and they don’t make as much as they should. I’m already 27 and don’t want to waste any more time.
Do you regret becoming a doctor? If you were already an ICU nurse, would you still go that route?
