Favourite start to an adventure game.
While I do try and give AGs a fair chance to get going, there are clearly games that having stronger start than others even if they may peak there.
What is everyone favourite start to an AG? Not just something with a good intro cutscene, but also one that gets you into the story/character and gets you playing.
Broken Sword 1 has that great explosion at the start, but then for me a bit of a lull while you poke around what's left of the cafe.
Broken Sword 2 felt much better. The cut scene switching between setting up George and Nico's visiting the Professor’s house and a mysterious Mayan template. Then Nico is kidnaps and George knocked out then wakes up where you have to get him out of a burning room.
On the other hand, the recent Space Venture game. Brief intro of docking at the station, quick chat about to find out you are here to fix something and then spend too long waving your cursor around trying to find a hotspot before realise it's right click verb coin interface type of game. Maybe that is by design to create the apathy associated with a contractor who's on an hourly wage?
