Can anyone explain 'The Wolf House' (2018) to me?

I just watched The Wolf House (2018). I thought it was a brilliant film, and animation was spectacular but I can't say I understood the plot very much. I know it is a surrealist film and so isn't fully meant to be understood, but can anyone explain any of the symbolism in the film, or its meaning? And what is it actually saying about Colonia Dignidad?
