So,,, let me start off by saying that I made this post 1. Entirely anonymously 2. Not with the intent of getting this guy out of business but wanting to know if this was a common occurrence (as he basically scoffed at me when I came in), and 3. Never knowing he’d see it yet alone respond to it.

There is this little bbq joint we’ve ordered from a few times close to where my parents are from. The food is decent, it’s expensive and close to a city bbq, but I was always happy to support it. This business owner had begged for business several times in the town page, saying he was close to closing his doors.

Well low and behold, we got a “too good to go” box from him and were given a silent treatment the whole time. We had some short and stifled responses before,,, but we genuinely thought maybe we’ve somehow made this guy mad?? I go to his yelp, his google reviews to see if this was a common occurrence… it sure was. This same person begging for business was basically giving anyone who stepped in the silent treatment and bad mouthing any bad review they got.

So, I took to my towns little group for giving little quarrels or complaints. I asked if this was common, I quickly got over 200+ comments. Many people agreed, owner was passive aggressive,,, but the surprise? The owner was arguing with every single person who said so in the comments. He questioned why I was anonymous but POSTED my post on his page like a call to arms. I’m EXTREMELY glad I did not say who I was.

I’m frustrated as my intent was just to see if I caught this guy on a bad day, but he’s been acting like a child. AITH for making this post? I really tried to sprinkle in kindness, his food is good, but I’m not going to spend my $$$, especially after you ask for it, if you’re not only not grateful but rude.
