Working prototype: smart home device for older houses (neutral wires problem) - looking for business partner
I’ve built and tested a working prototype for a niche smart home problem:
Many older houses have no neutral wire in the switch boxes, which makes most smart home devices unusable without rewiring. My device circumvents the need of a neutral wire in the switch box, turning basically any on-off device (lights, blinds, etc.) into a smart device.
It can work completely offline like a normal switch (no cloud dependency), but if online, it integrates with MQTT, HomeKit, and Home Assistant. It’s been running in my own home for 2 years without issues.
The prototype uses certified core parts (Wi-Fi, power supply), but the product itself is not yet certified.
I’m looking for a business-minded partner to help with certification, manufacturing, and market launch. Ideally someone with hardware product experience, but I’m open to other skill sets if you’re passionate about bringing hardware to market.
I can share more technical and business details if you’re interested — DM me.
