Privacy Screen protectors on Motorcycle Dashboard/Speedometers

Asking for a friend, and out of morbid curiosity - has anyone tried attaching one of these to their dashboard (especially if you have a nice LCD color dash) and recording with their action cameras? Would the dashboard still be legible or blacked out?

I know you can always blur it on editor, but let's say we're just curious...
