Susie and rasiel will eventually have to learn the value of the world's they come from.

SpoilerTheory

We all know how susie and rasiel contrast in many ways but I'd like to add one more. They both need to learn the value of the world's they come from. Allow me to explain.

Susie for all her good intentions doesn't seem to realize that every good story has an ending. While her determination to fight back against a cruel fate is undoubtedly a noble cause she isn't going about it with any real plan and it's starting to come back to bite her as we saw with the stone gerson. But more importantly I think she might be faced with the idea that her using the dark worlds as an escape from her miserable reality is feeding into the idea that darkners only exist to serve lightners which we know she isn't a fan of and maybe the idea that she doesn't actually value her friends as people but only likes them because she can escape through them which we know isn't true but it will be more a proof that she is better than that.

Ralsei has the opposite problem he rather infamously believes in the inferiority of his own people. His arc will be tackling an idea I think many stories neglect to tell. The idea that trying to go with fiction and fantasy is just as unhealthy if not more so as over indulging in it. His constant downplaying of his own worth and the worth of all darkners reflects the idea that fiction is nothing more than a quick distraction from reality when toby clearly and rightfully believes it to be so much more!! His arc will not only be about accepting his own worth but the worth of all darkners and the concept of fiction as a whole. You can't go through life without believing in things other than cold harsh reality and trying to is a recipe for disaster.
