ALT questions - Links to diabetes, and what is actually considered high?
39 male, 5'9, 195-200 lbs. Try to stay active but know I'm not as on it and the diet/exercise as I used to be. Workup in 2017 was ALT of 40, next workup late last year/early this year was 55. Recheck in the last couple weeks was 50 and wants to have an ultrasound done. The lab shows the normal range being to 45 or 56. My family has the usual history of heart disease and diabetes. Is this sort of a do your due diligence situation, and possible from what I'm reading get out in front of a possible early diabetes indicator? I've never been big on alcohol, probably drank to excess maybe twice when I was younger, and also took Aleve for too long once when I was younger and in a strenuous job as well but that was easily 15 years ago. Just wondering if this is a get out in front of health issues, or something I shouldn't even be overly worried about. Thanks.
