Intense panic and fear post op?
Trigger warning: Sexual violence. I am 3wpo from a very long, intense hysterectomy. I kept my ovaries but my tubes, uterus and cervix were removed. I did have IUDs for the last 13 years continuously to control endometriosis, cramping, bleeding. I had the largest fibroid my surgeon has ever seen and adenomyosis was also found by pathology.
I keep having intense sense of panic and impending doom more days than not. I am not sure if it's hormones or lack thereof. I do have cPTSD and sexual trauma, but this is the most intense fear aside from when I was with my abusive ex. I am perpetually terrified ALL OF THE TIME. I reached out to my surgeons office and asked if it was hormones or something else. They replied "some women have issues with restrictions.". I feel condescened to and embarrassed about it. If I'm contacting my doctor, it's my last resort, I'm at my wits end. I reached out to several counselors with no response.
My friend told me "I can feel your panic and fear via text, I'm sorry you're feeling so scared."
Has anyone else experienced this? Does it go away? I'm terrified to go back to work as I work two very emotionally and mentally demanding jobs and I can't be on the verge of tears all the damn time. I also don't cry (trauma response), so being on the verge of it all day, every day is really alarming for me.
