Afk rules

I used to use an afk pool for afking and I haven’t changed it in years but recently (past year) it’s stopped working as in I get pulled off my island and into the afk lobby every time I use it . Is afking not aloud or do I just need a new pool design ? Is it illegal to stand still in a cobblestone generator with a rock on my mouse to afk?
