Put them down when drowsy

My health visitor just advised that I start putting my 10 week old in his bed when drowsy rather than asleep. For context we said he doesn’t do long stretches of sleep and I bf him every time he wakes then he falls asleep on me and is eventually transferred to his next to me crib.

I feel like this is a bit like sleep training and feels too early to do this to a 10 week old? Also I just know my baby would thrash about the second he is put down and would stop being drowsy immediately.

What are your experiences & thoughts?
