Should I do a PhD?

Hello Everyone,

I have recently finished my Masters in the UK and received a great result for my thesis. I'm currently working with the advisor to get my thesis published.

In the meantime I've been toying with the question of further pursuing a PhD just out of pure interest in my discipline.

For context my thesis focused on the use of Deep Learning algorithms for the classification and diagnosis of medical imaging. I was undertaking my Masters part time whilst working full-time which was incredibly difficult, not to mention I was also self-funding.

My question is should I hold off on pursuing the PhD or just continue on with my career in the field of Data Science?
