“Can we debut skill only!” guys accept the reality before its too late
‼️I mainly make this post because I understand how it is to be in the shoes of people saying this but I don’t want you guys to feel upset after the final results are announced because you are confused why some trainees made it over more skilled trainees and feel sad or even bitter after. 🫶🏻
~I learnt the hard way after my first survival (Debut's Plan) and saw several of my favourite, talented trainees crying that they didn’t debut, and it’s heartbreaking AF 💔 but you have to accept it - that not only trainees with the best skill will debut. If it was that way, what’s the point of us voting when they could just get professionals to judge skills and debut who they think is the best - easy right?
The reason they give fans the ability to vote whoever we like - whether that be based off of visual, skill or even personality - is so that whoever the majority of fans like based on these 3 factors, they WILL debut and the company can be sure that the group will be popular and profitable as they’ve gained the most fans they possibly can from the show to invest in the group. It also gives fans a lot more inclusion and attachment that they decide these trainees fates. So it doesn’t matter what one fanbase thinks, if the other side of the fandom is more bigger, their votes will win and whoever the like will decide most of the debut line-up; and the show itself will make sure that happens via screen time, content and whatnot.
But if we try to force a skill-based voting onto all the fans or only let judges choose the contestants to debut (who fans may not even be rooting for or worse don't even know), then do you think most fans especially Korean/Asian fans who are the main source of profit for kpop groups who like to vote for what matches their expectations of an 'idol' will even bother supporting them? The show and group will flop and it will be a waste of time for fans and the debuted trainees themselves.
So you have to accept some people like visual more than skill and some like skill more than visual and both is perfectly ok, it is a show to reflect who the fandom like the most and who they want to debut after all ‼️ That's why they give FANS the freedom of whoever they want to vote. And people may hate on visual picks all they want, who they don’t think are as talented or deserve the spotlight more others but they are what’s going to bring the majority of fans in if that’s who the majority of the fans are voting for and they will make the group popular whether you like it or not because if their faves don’t make it, say hello to nugudom for the group 😬
🔘But yes, I just wanted to say this before people get upset over any debuted contestants and my advice is to try not to get too emotionally invested on the trainees and try to get used to the popular contestants before they debut, as well as being mentally prepared for favs being eliminated and certain contestants not debuting - it’s a survival.
