Constant ZFS/Chksum Errors in Pool
Hi all,
I've been spinning my wheels lately trying to understand how I could have so many errors in my storage pool. For context, I am coming from a Synology 4 bay that housed a single SMB share with all of my media, linked to the arr stack and Plex. I've since rebuilt everything on new hardware, keeping Plex and the arr stack. Everything, including TrueNAS, is set up as VM's and containers in Proxmox, with my HBA (LSI 9300 16i) passed through to the TrueNAS VM with all 8 disks included. The HBA has been flashed with 16.00.12.00 in IT mode. I'm running 3 Seagate EXOS 14TB (Model: ST14000NM001G-2KJ103, brand new from a reputable eBay seller), a Toshiba 14TB (MG07ACA14TE), and a Kioxia 1TB NVME as ZFS cache. I do have separate SMB shares split out for each portion of the arr stack, which was not how I had things set up on the Synology:
I am not unfamiliar with the Linux command line or ZFS, as I've used both in a professional setting a few years back, but I can't seem to clear any of the errors I'm seeing in the pool. I've scrubbed the dataset, reviewed the file errors (which completely change any time I export/import and scrub), deleted and re-downloaded any errored files... it just seems like I'm chasing my tail. Maybe I'm using the software wrong? Is there issue with mixing drive models in an array? Are there drivers I'm missing in either PVE or TrueNAS?
I'm almost at the point where I wipe out everything and start fresh, but I'm even hesitant to do that since newly downloaded media/files are reporting chksum errors!
Sorry for the rant, any help here would be appreciated.
