“No team perk”???

Joined a hard siege mode game with a heavy (rank 23, prestige 1), with the reduced ranged damage team perk and was told to “switch to something with a team perk or at least something leveled” and got kicked before I could ask what that meant.

So I’m asking here. Am I missing something? did they just misread the prestige 1 mark next to my game tag?
