I’ve had periods of spontaneous kundalini awakening powerful surges of energy rising through my spine, sometimes guiding my body into intricate mudras and postures I’d never learned. It felt as if an ancient intelligence was moving through me, aligning my body, mind, and breath with something beyond myself.

In the most intense moments, I entered samadhi-like states where thought dissolved into pure presence. Once, during a deep connection with a close friend, he went through powerful kundalini surges waves of energy visibly moving through him while I felt as if we were both plugged into the same current. In that peak moment, I slipped into what felt like my higher self calm, timeless, and utterly clear. In that state I knew my dharma: to be of service to others and to help elevate those around me. I’m nowhere near fulfilling that purpose yet, but the vision remains a guiding star.

I’ve even had these surges occur in everyday life once in front of my daughter and her mother reminding me this isn’t something I can summon at will; it’s something alive within me. These states have done more for my healing than years of therapy, untying knots of trauma and giving me glimpses of what we might be when we’re fully awake.

They’ve also made me notice patterns the same rising energy, the same serpent or axis imagery appearing in spiritual traditions all over the world.

At 2:21 in this [Ryan Bledsoe video](https://youtu.be/vv1wg3VOqtE?si=JlKwnaW9uvCWOZJL), he says “look into kundalini” and hints at connections with sacred geometry and hidden Western mystery traditions like the Rosicrucians and Templars.

🌏 Ancient Cultural Views with Striking Overlaps

Vedantic / Tantric (India)

Kundalini Shakti — dormant serpent energy coiled at the base of the spine.

Awakens and rises through sushumna nadi, activating chakras (each with its own sacred geometry).

Goal is union of Shiva (pure consciousness) and Shakti (divine energy) at the crown (sahasrara), leading to moksha (liberation).

Uses yantras, mantras, and mudras to guide and stabilize the ascent.

Norse (Scandinavia)

Yggdrasil — the World Tree, axis connecting realms from underworld to heaven.

Níðhöggr, the serpent/dragon, dwells at its roots, echoing kundalini’s coiled serpent.

Bifröst, the rainbow bridge, parallels the energy channel between realms/chakras.

Óðr (divine inspiration) and Odin’s quest for wisdom mirror the awakening journey.

Yoruba (West Africa)

Àṣẹ — divine animating force in all things, like prana/shakti.

Orisa — deities embodying specific cosmic qualities, some linked to body centers.

Ọ̀pa àṣẹ (staff of authority) often features serpent imagery.

Trance possession can induce heat, vibration, and ecstatic states akin to kundalini surges.

Hopi (North America)

Lööma — Creator’s breath, the life-force.

Ceremonial kivas with sipapu (hole to lower world) represent emergence into higher realms — ladder ascent mirrors root-to-crown awakening.

Snake Dance uses serpents as intermediaries with spirit forces, resonating with kundalini’s serpent archetype.

Ancient Egypt

Djed pillar — the backbone of Osiris, raised in ritual as a symbol of stability and awakened spine.

Uraeus cobra — serpent on the crown representing awakened consciousness and opened third eye.

Sacred geometry in temple design reflects cosmic order, much like yantras.

Mesoamerican (Maya/Aztec)

Quetzalcoatl/Kukulkan — feathered serpent deity uniting heaven and earth.

Equinox shadow at Chichen Itza shows serpent “ascending” pyramid — a stone metaphor for rising energy.

Cosmology links Venus cycles and sacred geometry to spiritual transformation.

🗺 Cross-Cultural Parallels

(From Root to Crown / Earth to Sky)

This isn’t just theory — I’ve made a visual chart (uploaded with this post) showing how each tradition maps onto the same core structure.

Core Element	Vedantic / Kundalini	Norse	Yoruba	Hopi	Ancient Egypt	Mesoamerican

Life Force	Kundalini Shakti	Óðr (divine inspiration)	Àṣẹ — divine power	Lööma — Creator’s breath	Sekhem — divine energy	Tonal / Quetzalcoatl — serpent force
Axis / Path	Sushumna nadi	Yggdrasil	Ọ̀pa àṣẹ staff	Kiva ladder	Djed pillar	Pyramid steps
Serpent	Coiled energy serpent	Níðhöggr at roots	Serpent on staff	Snake Dance messengers	Uraeus cobra	Feathered Serpent
Ascent	Chakras to sahasrara	Climbing Yggdrasil / Bifröst	Possession trance	Emerge from sipapu	Raising the Djed	Serpent shadow climbing pyramid
Geometry	Yantras, mandalas	Knotwork cosmograms	Opon Ifa tray	Kiva circular plan	Temple ratios	Venus-cycle alignments
Goal	Union with Shiva — moksha	Odin’s wisdom	Harmony with Orisa	Balance with Creator	Union of ka & ba	Heaven–Earth harmony

🤔 Why These Parallels Appear Worldwide

1. Universal Anatomy Theory — Humans share the same subtle energy system, so mystics everywhere discovered it independently.

2. Archetypal Mind Theory — The serpent and axis appear spontaneously in human psyche during deep transformation.

3. Diffusion Theory — Ancient contact, trade, or lost civilizations could have spread the core teachings.

4. Contact Hypothesis — Beings like “Nordics” may have seeded or guided this knowledge in different eras.

5. Initiatory Safety Hypothesis — Knowledge was encoded in metaphor to protect those unready and preserve the wisdom.

🌟 Why It Matters Now

We live in a time when this information is more accessible than ever, but much of the traditional wisdom for safe integration has been lost.

Recognizing this shared heritage can:

Build cross-cultural respect instead of appropriation.

Unite seekers beyond dogma.

Remind us human evolution may hinge on awakening this inner potential — whether seen as biological, archetypal, or cosmic.
