Question for CVOR nurses

Currently doing a 13 week contract at a smaller hospital. The expectation is that when finished with CV or there are no cases, you’re to give breaks/lunches on the general side. That’s fine but sometimes their schedule is light too and then there are an abundance of free people. When that’s the situation, it becomes very difficult to “find” something to do-stay busy and hanging out for long periods in the break room doesn’t look good. Does anyone ever just ask to go home and tell payroll that you were sent home? It puts me in a difficult position because this facility won’t “low census” me but I have absolutely nothing to do.
