Help me skip some museums? (history/traditional art)

Hello, I am trying to optimize my itinerary with things other than museums (since history and traditional art museums are too tempting to me, and always creep into my itinerary).

I know these have some overlap: so which ones would you recommend skipping without losing out on too much?

History: Tokyo National Museum, Osaka Museum of History
History again (but considering that these have life-size replicas, hence tempting in a different way): Osaka museum of housing and living, Shitamachi Museum Tokyo
Art: Tokyo National Museum, Osaka Ukiyo-e Museum

Thanks a lot in advance! :) I am hoping that your experience helps me filter out the ones that might look good on paper, but aren't amazing enough in person, and therefore can be skipped.
