Toddler leashes?

advice needed

This is a real question... My therapist wants me to get out more with the babies (b/g twins 2.5 yo, and both Autistic). We rarely get out. First, one simple outing seems to eat so the whole day and emotionally and physically exhaust everyone. Second, there's two of them and one of me. Go to the library or park and expect them not to want to stay in the stroller? Obvz not, but take them out and expect them to stay by my side? Totz no. They run in opposite directions. One has a fit while the other bolts somewhere else. Third, yes I want to get out with them, and I also want them to not get hit by a car or kidnapped, etc. I saw a lady the other day with one baby, who was on a leash. Baby didn't seem unruly, but maybe it made her feel safe.

I've not been a fan of the idea, but if we want to get out in public more just the 3 of us, what's the alternative?
