Hail damage just totaled my 2018 Atlas SEL w/4Motion and VR6 with 105k miles. A few questions to help me decide what to do.

I've had to do some extensive house repairs recently and finances are tight. Trying to decide if this is a blessing in disguise to get rid of my car payment or to get me out of a car that may have expensive repairs soon. I got the car VW certified pre-owned with 1 previous owner at around 28k miles and have kept up with all factory-recommended maintenance. I can keep the car and walk away with $2000 after they settle my loan or I can surrender the car and walk away with $7000. Unfortunately I only have a few days to make my decision, but in general would it be reasonable for me to take the money with it currently at 105k miles or am I just inviting some big repairs in the near future. The only thing that has I've had to fix other than standard maintenance parts was replacing a gasket about a year ago. Thanks!
