Stopping Terbinafine after 6 months and no progress

I decided to stop today after 6 months of taking it and absolutely zero new growth on any of my 3 affected nails. The PA dermatologist who prescribed them to me is just so hard to get in touch with, so I’m making the decision on my own. I do have a follow up appointment in a couple of weeks, but I think it’s just time. Six months is at the max range of any recommended timeline I see online. She only ordered labs once during this entire time (other than the initial baseline labs), which just feels a little irresponsible to me idk. I have felt okay, no side effects except for some intense undereye bagging/dark circles that may or may not be related. I’m curious to see if that improves after stopping.

I’m so upset. I really thought this might work, but I just don’t feel good about being on this medication any longer, especially under the supervision of someone who doesn’t seem super involved. But now it feels like I have no hope. I’m only 33 and the thought of my toenails looking like this for the rest of my life is devastating. I’m so so so disappointed.
