BMCU 370X currently active motor is getting too hot to touch.

i just started a 7.5 hrs print this morning and went to work after coming back i saw the print stopped after 2 hrs of printing. on the printer screen its said something like " the filament is stuck somewhere maybe move it manually and check again". i did and the filament seamed to move freely.

after this i cleaned the extruder gear etc., in the process of trying to understand what might have happened i noticed the BMCU motor is so hot to touch. is this normal? i feel it's not and if anybody else having this issue please share your experiences.
