Pokemon go giovanni legendary questions

I currently have Misunderstood Mischief, Timeless travelsand Delightful days taken over reaserch tasks. They're at the same page where the task is to beat Giovanni Can I fight him multiple times because I have those 3? If I can fight him multiple times do I get the previous legendary pokemon or will it only be Giratina?
