If i do a sale, will i ultimately loose money?

I'm new to the printify game and im planning on doing a 30% sale to bring in some sales and help build a bit of a customer base and reputation with etsy itself and become a more trusted seller. However im pretty sure this would ultimately make me lose money and the profit margin would be -x% and not x%.
