Using web browser in Clara ereader to download from Proton Drive (or Google Drive)

I'm seriously considering getting a Kobo Clara Colour (over the Libra Colour because of the price) and preferably would like to not immediately start tinkering with it and just stick with the cloud storage I have now. So my question is, with the web browser, will it still be fine logging into Proton/Google accounts to download books from those drives? Or just downloading from a public folder without logging in?

I'm only asking because I'd much rather not spend the extra $70 for official Google Drive support and since Proton Drive isn't an officially supported cloud storage option by the device/addons I need to know it'd work on what I'm assuming is a super bare-bones web browser.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'd just hate to spend the money and find out I need to immediately tinker with it to read! (And I do know about using Calibre, just I've got 3000+ files already in Proton Drive so it'd be easiest to start from there if possible lol)
