Sewing/Embroidery Machine for Beginners?

Hi all! I am getting to that age where all my friends and family members are married and having children! I want to start crafting to make quilts and embroidery for the families/children. I have no clue where to start on finding a good machine. I’ve found the Brother SE700 Sewing and Embroidery Machine, which seems to be good for general sewing and embroidery, but would I be able to make quilts with it as well? Thank you for any help!
