Should I mod my Mk8 civic

So I got a mk8 1.4L type S a few months ago as my first car at 17 and I want to make some mods to it but don't know how to even begin or where to find parts. ( I know its not a good decision financially but I want to do it anyway)

Because of the engine I don't know if any engine mods that fit the 1.8 are compatible (e.g exhaust, air filter etc) and i havent found any mods for the actual 1.4 engine so is it even possible?
