G1 Purists...

Just to be clear, this is NOT meant to be an attack on g1 purists. If you prefer g1 dolls over g3, that's totally valid. I love both generations and I don't want this post to be a fight. But I feel like in the recent years since g3 has released, there's been a lot of hate towards them whether it's about design choices, design choices about ethnic characters, and especially the body types.

Ofc, not every g1 purist is like that but I feel like there's been a lot of hate coming from g1 purists. Like I watched a g3 catty noir and g1 catty noir tiktok that was posted recently and there's still people who are body shaming g3 catty.

Idk, I feel like some of them are genuinely just haters but idk. Maybe there's a nostalgia factor or something. I love g1 but I don't have a nostalgia connection to them cause I got into monster high in 2020 (which was probably the WORST timing to get invested in monster high imo)

But genuinely, there's issues with g3 and it's totally fine if they aren't up your alley but I still think the hate for g3 is kind of overboard. This reddit is more accepting but a lot of other places certainly aren't.

People literally hate g3 cause it targets a different demographic than g1 and people do NAWT have to be super cold about it.

(And I'm stating this as someone who thinks g3 Clawdeen is not as good as g1 Clawdeen and although I got used to it, I still want a blue g3 Lagoona)
