A series of unfortunate events
This morning, I out my kayak on my car before work, hoping to go out paddling after work. It was my first time putting it up by myself, and I clearly didn’t do it correctly, as it came flying off within a couple miles. I grabbed the kayak from the road but was now late for work and didn’t have time to put it up again, especially without towels/protection for my car or a ladder to help. So I threw it in the grass on the side of the road and went to work for a couple hours.
Within 4 hours of the incident. I drove back, now with help, to try and get the kayak back on my car, only to discover it was gone. I’m so completely devastated by all of this situation that is of my own doing and completely avoidable. I just got that kayak(used) and really loved it and had only gotten to take it out once. My finances aren’t such that it’s easy to justify spending $650 again a couple months later. I’m so incredibly sad and looking for some empathy.
I marked this safety since perhaps my failures will help prevent others from making the same mistakes.
