"Thanks Dad! I can't believe you got me this job!" Lucy said, waving goodbye to her dad as he exited the elevator on the fifth floor, smiling big for him as he waved goodbye. Her smile vanishing as the doors closed and she realized just how nervous she was as the elevator rocketed Lucy up to the top floor of the tower.

Lucy took a moment to smooth her tight fitting black miniskirt and white blouse out, making sure she looked good, wanting to make a good first impression. Finally taking her glasses off for a moment she briefly cleaned them with a cloth just in time for the elevator doors to open.

"Lucy Right, Lucy Ballard?" The CEO said as soon as the doors opened, catching Lucy slipping her glasses back on.

"Huh?" Lucy said in surprise, adjusting her blond hair out of her face and realizing that she was looking at her employer. "Um Yes! Sorry I'm a bit flustered, its my first day and I would've gotten lost if it wasn't for my dad" She said with a big smile. "Nice to meet you!"

"Pleasure to meet you, I'm glad your here I've been without help for a few weeks and frankly I'm drowning, so the quicker you can get up to speed the better" The CEO said, walking around to behind the desk facing the elevator. "This is your spot, all your paperwork and login and stuff is there. IT should have already set you up. After you get acclimated, I've printed a bunch of stuff you can organize and bring it to me after lunch. My office is just through that door." He said pointing through the open door, giving Lucy a glimpse of an office that was the size of a house.

"Yes Sir, can do!" Lucy said a little overwhelmed by everything as she walked towards her desk and stared at the mountains of papework that covered the free space.

"Great! I have faith you'll figure everything out!" He said turning towards his office, grumbling "Especially for what were paying you".

Lucy watched her new Boss leave before sitting down at her desk, grabbing the packet from HR and IT and logging into her computer to get to work. The hours ticking by slowly, becoming unburied from her mountain of work. Finally, in the early afternoon, already working through her lunch to try to get ahead, she gets to the stack of papers on the printer.

Going through the large stack, scanning each one to figure out how best to file it between the piles she'd created to sign, toss, scan, or reports she stumbled across a list of people that were on the fire list at the end of the year. To make matters worse, the notices were schedule to go out on Christmas. Lucy couldn't contain her curiosity and casually scanned through the Bs to find her last name.

"Oh No" She said under her breath seeing her Dad's name on the firing list, hardly able to believe it, especially after he'd just gotten this job!

Lucy couldn't let that happen, she had to do something, especially not at Christmas. She sat down in her chair, wondering what she should do, glancing towards the open office door at the CEO and shaking her head, resolving herself to do whatever it takes, for her dad. She gathered her strength, steeling herself as she applied a fresh coat of bright red lipstick and grabbed her stack of papers, strolling into the CEO's office.

"Um, Sir, I've organized all the stuff you've printed...but..." Lucy could feel the lump in her throat, "I was wondering if we could talk about this, about my Dad..." She said, pulling out the to fire list.

The CEO smiled, Lucy had taken the bait so easily, "Of course, what is the problem?"

Lucy could feel the CEO's gaze bore through her like a drill, "I...I was wondering if there was something I could do to get his name off the list? Like work harder? Or maybe extra hours?" She said, feeling her awkwardness as she bounced on her heels.

"Hmmmm, I'm not sure lets discuss the matter. But first, why don't you go close the Office door and give us some privacy." The CEO said with a cruel grin as Lucy nodded and turned towards the door to close it.

Lucy does what it takes to keep her dad's job. But the CEO is a cruel man who treats her like an object and slave. Taking her on business trip to please him and clients, lending her out to the sales team. Humiliating her among his friends, forcing her to get piercings and tattoos. Making her act like his dog at home, etc. Just generally awful stuff in the name of keeping her dad's overworked and underpaid job.
