Recommendations for first time visitor

Hello! I’m planning to visit El Paso as it was the closest airport to the National Parks nearby, but I also wanted to explore El Paso a bit - especially as I have a fascination with border towns (like Niagara, Detroit, San Diego, etc).

1. What recommendations would you give for someone spending at least one full day in El Paso ?

2. really enjoy using transit so I did want to ride SunMetro buses + Streetcar

3. on my list was the Border Patrol Museum, Maybe Franklin Mountains State Park

4. I did want to go to Juarez (for a quick day trip) and see the MUREF museum there - any tips on safety would be appreciated

5. it would be nice to have a small souvenir or memento of your beautiful city!
