Flex mini 2.5s as backbone

I recently upgraded to a ucg Fibre and I'm currently have two hops to get to one of my aps, so I'm wondering if I could put in flex mini 2.5 in place of both current switches (one ultra for a bunch of poe devices which I would keep but connect through the flex, and one usw that would be replaced with the flex mini). So I think this should work but will I miss features by "only" using the flex minis that I would get worn a larger investment in proper switches?
