Possible stolen identity?

Around 7 years ago these men took pictures of my passport and took scans of my face on their phones. Unfortunately I didn’t do anything about this as I wasn’t in the headspace. I completely blocked out what happened since. One guy was from dubai and the other was from the uk. I vaguely remember them speaking about some business ideas or possible scams. Over the years I have wondered if this is worth even reporting. I’m concerned that my face and details are being used, but I haven’t been able to bring myself to do anything about it. I’ve literally just continued life as if nothing ever happened. My credit is fine and my passport has since been renewed.

What do you think it is they were doing?
