AITA for ignoring my friend?

I (f24) used to be really good friends with a guy (M24).

He even introduced me to my ex boyfriend.

He moved to a new city. And made new friends and started hanging out with a new friend group.

Which honestly, good for him.

Weird things started happening a few months ago.

He and I share a lot of mutual friends.

Whenever he posted pictures of hanging out with us.... I get cropped out. If he posts a screenshot of our group chat, my name get blurred. If he reposts my status or posts a screenshot of our chat, he either crops out my name, or deleted it after a minute.

Honestly it was kind of weird. I asked him about it, and he told me that this girl from his new friend circle really didn't like it and was pretty possessive.

He had been posting kind of romantic stuffs for a while, so I just figured she was not comfortable with me being close to him given that we had a little bit of a history.

I decided not to take it to heart even though he kept doing it.

If we hung out as a group, he would only post pictures where I wasn't there. If we were on call, he would immediately hang up without any warnings the moment she asked him who was he talking to.

I did not want to meddle too much because she was clearly uncomfortable with me, but I still found it a little annoying. Not the girl, but the guy.

Fast forward to a few days ago, he revealed that he never had anything going on with that girl. Not even any feelings involved. They just pretended to have a thing for each other without ever saying that explicitly because people would tease them.

I know this was kind of petty of me, but I was honestly kind of offended?

He had been cutting me out of all his socials and basically his life because he and a random girl i didn't know was pulling a prank?

He was a friend i had considered really close. A friend i had mentioned to on some occasions that I felt kind of bad that he was always removing me. And he always tried to reassure me it was because of the girl. Because she was possessive and did not like him getting close to other girls. I have known him for more then 5 years and he has known her for 1.

Like I said, I have nothing against someone I dont know. But I felt insulted by a friend I considered close.

So I decided to cut things off with him. I did not have the energy to argue and explain things to him. Maybe I should've. But I just felt so little to him once he revealed his prank.

I have been ignoring him totally since that day. I dont respond to texts or calls. And he keeps texting me asking what happened.

A friend told me that I was being kind of an AH because he never meant to hurt me. But ahhh.
