Are these psych thesis topics good enough? Need advice! Open to your suggestions too.
Hi! I’m a psychology student trying to finalize my thesis topic. I want something that sounds deep but is still practical to research. Here are some of the ideas I’ve been thinking about: 1. Retroactive Jealousy and Attachment Styles – How jealousy over a partner’s past relates to different attachment styles (secure, anxious, avoidant). 2. TikTok “Brain Rot” and Humor Perception – Effects of chaotic meme-style content (e.g., “ballerina cappuccina”) on attention span, humor appreciation, and mental overstimulation. 3. The Dunning–Kruger Effect in Online Debates – How overconfidence without actual knowledge drives misinformation and heated arguments online. 4. Positive Self-Affirmations and Achievement – How daily affirmations influence self-confidence, persistence, and performance. 5. The Social Function of Playful/Flirtatious Banter Among Friends – How suggestive jokes affect friendship closeness and boundaries. 6. AI Companionship and Emotional Substitution – Effects of forming emotional bonds with AI chatbots on real-life relationships and social skills.
Are these topics thesis-worthy in ba in psychology? Which ones do you think are doable but still unique? I’m also open to other creative, not-so-common suggestions.
Thanks!
