Help De-Bland My Living Room!

I want to create a more livable, cozy space. I’ve been trying to set this space up, but I’m honestly terrible at making things go together.

Im into a darker style of decor, & Just want to fill in this blank space.

Planning on a coffee table & rug for the couch. Any suggestions are very appreciated :)
