Have you ever tried to write when you were anxious? Did it helped?

Question

So the years went passing and through time I realized somethings that actually helped me to manage everything I felt. Well, I am an Overthinker Extraordinaire and actually used to Overfelt things either. At a certain point I became writing poems, or texts, or phrases... or actually anything that came into my mind about everything that happened into my inner-world and it was a strong tool to give name and organize things I before couldn't identify. Is this a tool that is actually used for other people? Do you feel that writing things down helps?

So here is one of my confusing poems:

I kiss the tips of my fingers,
The ones that point to my face
Saying you love me not.

In the kisses I give,
I swallow words and
Feel within me everything that
Consumes.

If I fill myself with sadness,
And in it
Poetry
Makes sense only to me.

My eyes do not spill,
Though inside me,
A maritime storm.

When I am swallowed whole
By smallness,
I finally overflow.

In the movement of bringing things out,
I must be watchful,
Give remedy to the nausea
So I don’t spit words
With acidic saliva.

I must be watchful,
I must be watchful,
And I repeat myself so things won’t escape
The things that must be done,
But cannot hold
In a clouded head.

When I begin to write,
I reread.
And though I see the beginning
And feel the middle
Of a text,
I seem never to reach its end.
Because nothing I write
Is able
To be final.
