This isn’t a romance. This is Mumbai’s film industry, where power changes hands behind closed doors, and people like me survive by knowing exactly when to walk away… and when not to.

It started at an awards afterparty. I wasn’t even supposed to be in that part of the hotel, but a spilled drink forced me into the staff hallway, hunting for a washroom. One of Yash’s assistants — clearly rushed — handed me his room key so I could “fix up in peace.” I opened the door and froze.

Inside: Yash. Not just a producer’s son — the Yash — with Neha and Aisha, both fresh from winning that night. Clothes everywhere. No fake smiles, no camera charm — just raw, rough, unapologetic use of each other’s bodies. I backed out before anyone noticed, but the image burned itself in my mind.

Fast-forward three weeks. Preena — Yash’s wife, and my friend — was out of the country. I had my own troubles: a career stuck in limbo, endorsements drying up, and a married, powerful “friend” of Yash’s growing bored of me. I came by to drop gifts for the kids.

He invited me upstairs to his study — “Just one glass.” We talked, but the conversation was loaded. He knew what I’d seen that night in the hotel. I knew exactly how valuable his pull could be if I wanted back in the game. The air was heavy, electric, dangerous.

I told myself I’d leave after the second glass. I didn’t.

By 4:30 a.m., I was walking down the hallway from his bedroom, hair tousled, dress strap loose, steps not quite steady. And there he was — his 17-year-old son, leaning against the wall, wide awake. He didn’t say a word. He didn’t have to. The smirk said it all.

If you want to play this out, you’ll be Yash. I’ll be Sobhita. We start from that glass of wine in the study — the door closed, the tension real.
