1st inning

YRFI (Yes Run First Inning)

Mariners at Orioles – Both offenses are rolling. Seattle has scored in the first inning in four of its last six games, Baltimore in three straight at home. George Kirby’s road splits are shaky and Dean Kremer is allowing 1.4 home runs per nine innings. Camden Yards is still favorable to left-handed pull hitters. Pick: YRFI

Cubs at Blue Jays – The Cubs have one of the best first-inning run rates in baseball and Toronto just exploded on offense yesterday. Ben Brown has a 6.04 ERA and has given up early damage in four of his last six starts. José Berríos has allowed first-inning runs in back-to-back outings. Pick: YRFI

Red Sox at Astros – Houston has scored in the first inning in six of its last seven games and Boston ranks second in MLB in first-inning runs. Dustin May has a 6.63 ERA in the first inning this season and Spencer Arrighetti has a 7.43 ERA through three starts. The heat in Texas and wind blowing out to left should help early offense. Pick: YRFI

NRFI (No Run First Inning)

Pirates at Brewers – Paul Skenes has not allowed a first-inning run all season in 24 starts. Freddy Peralta owns a sub-1.00 WHIP and is dominant early. The Brewers lead MLB in home NRFI percentage. Pick: NRFI

Braves at Mets – Spencer Strider has given up a first-inning run in only four of 15 starts. The Mets are cold at the plate and rank near the top in NRFI percentage. Clay Holmes is 19–4 on NRFI bets this season and Atlanta is missing key bats. Pick: NRFI

Padres at Giants – Robbie Ray has a 2.85 ERA and faces a cold San Francisco lineup that ranks dead last in OPS against left-handed pitching. Nestor Cortes has been steady early and San Diego also has a high NRFI rate. Pick: NRFI
