Offered a great degree apprenticeship but thinking of backing out not sure if I’m ready to move away

Hi everyone, I’m 19 (M) and recently got an offer for a degree apprenticeship in Manchester. It’s a good opportunity — full-time work while earning a degree with decent pay and prospects. But now that the start date is getting close I’m having serious doubts.

I’ve never lived away from home before and the thought of moving about four hours away from my family feels really overwhelming. I haven’t had to cook properly manage bills or do things like grocery shopping on my own. On top of that I’ll be balancing a full-time job and university studies.

I found a flat and paid a deposit but the lease is for 12 months with a break clause that only applies after eight months. So if I decide to leave early I’d still be financially committed for most of the year.

Now I’m considering either applying to a university closer to home or trying to find a more local apprenticeship next year. But I also wonder if this hesitation is just anxiety or cold feet.

Has anyone been in a similar position moving out or starting a big responsibility before feeling fully ready? How did it turn out? Would you recommend pushing through or changing plans? Any advice or perspectives would really help.
