I dropped the "why do gen x men hate their wives" question on a group of them today

All blue collar, the conversation came up about taking an entire week off of work and a bunch of them said they wouldn't because then they'd be around their wife all day and have to do things with her.

I asked the group, perhaps a bit too bluntly, "Why do you hate the person you married?"

Every single answer boiled down to "I don't hate her, I just wouldn't want to spend a week straight with her. The weekends and the 1-2 hours I see her after work are enough."

I feel like this raises more questions, but decided it wouldn't be a good idea to push it further.
